Sao Paulo, founded in the year 1554 by the Jesuits, lies on a plateau rising around 750 meters above the sea level. The natives of the place are mostly Indians who inhabited the area once the city was founded. It is the world’s largest coffee bean producer and the coffee tree plantations are a site to watch.
